2011 ART SCHOLARSHIP

ATTENTION: ALL COLORADO COUNTY

GRADUATING SENIOR ART STUDENTS

THE LIVE OAK ART CENTER IN COLUMBUS, TEXAS

IS OFFERING A $2000 ART SCHOLARSHIP

RULES:

·         APPLICANTS MUST BE A GRADUATING SENIOR IN COLORADO COUNTY HIGH SCHOOL

·         GRADE AVERAGE: 75 (2.5 ON 4.0 SYSTEM) MUST PROVIDE US WITH ENROLLMENT VERIFICATION PLEASE PROVIDE US WITH HIGH SCHOOL TRANSCRIPT.

·         SUBMIT UP TO 20 DIGITAL SLIDES OF ORIGINAL ART WORKS PRODUCED IN LAST 4 YEARS…MINIMUM 3 PIECES

·         WRITE AN ARTIST STATEMENT DESCRIBING YOUR ART

·         WRITE A ONE PAGE ESSAY DESCRIBING YOUR PLANS FOR FURTHERING YOUR ART EDUCATION INCLUDING THE SCHOOL YOU PLAN ON ATTENDING. TELL US WHAT YOU HAVE LEARNED ABOUT THEIR OFFERED ART PROGRAM

·         SUBMIT A DIGITAL CD OF IMAGES, ARTIST STATEMENT, ESSAY, & ANY ORIGINAL WORK YOU WOULD LIKE TO ALSO INCLUDE SUCH AS SKETCH BOOKS TO YOUR HIGH SCHOOL ART TEACHER WHO WILL BRING THEM TO THE LIVE OAK ART CENTER BY May 3, 2011.

DEADLINE

TEACHERS MAY SUBMIT ENTRIES AT ANY TIME ON OR BEFORE TUESDAY, MAY 3 AT 5:00 TO THE LIVE OAK ART CENTER

This is an agreement between the Live Oak Art Center and the LOAC 2011 Art Scholarship winner as to the following:

1.      The total of $2,000 will be paid toward tuition at the beginning of the Fall Semester.

2.      By no later than July 30, 2011, the winner will notify the Scholarship Chairman, and send a copy of the letter of acceptance from the school, college or university that the winner will be attending.

3.      If the deadline for receipt of the letter of acceptance is not met, an alternative winner will be selected and notified.

4.      The tuition money must be applied toward courses pertaining to the visual arts or required courses for a major in art.

5.      Student must also visit: http://www.studentclearinghouse.org/ and supply us with a student enrollment verification form.

6.      Student must also supply us with a copy of their Fall Semester Fee Statement.
