Art Youth

Live Oak Art Youth

Live Oak Art Youth is a FREE Tuesday afternoon art program from 4pm to 6pm focused on helping students with a strong interest in art to develop their art portfolios and learn more about opportunities in the arts. It’s a pre-college art experience with The Live Oak Art Center, and Sam Houston State University: Photography/ Studio Art Alumni. Most Universities now have what is referred to as a BFA review; before being able to enroll into either the art department or photography department. This program will help prepare you for the review and will teach you how to properly assemble your portfolio, sketchbook, and conceptual ideas. This is an intensive program designed to help prepare students for college admission in the field of art and photography. The program combines intensive drawing classes, concentrated electives, photography classes, open studio times, portfolio reviews, and career information.
